The Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs

presents his compliments to the Under Secretary of State

for the Colonies, and with reference to the letter from

this Department of the 25th ultimo, is directed by

Secretary Sir E.Grey to state that it is now proposed

with Mr.Secretary Harcourt's concurrence, to publish

in the Treaty Series the Agreement signed at London

#

on the 14th ultimo between the United Kingdom and Portu-

gal for the regulation of the opium monopolies in the

Colonies of Hongkong and Macao.

The Portuguese Government have already expressed

their consent to such publication.
